Well, we got our first lesson in rolling with the punches. It turns out that a little hurricane named Sandy disagreed with our intention to fly out of Washington tonight. We’re expecting up to 6 inches of rain, and winds in excess of 60 mph. The ever enthusiastic news channels are calling it “Frankenstorm”. To make a long story short, most flights are getting cancelled, and ours is no exception. Luckily we managed to get booked on the same flight, Wednesday evening. Here’s hoping things have calmed down by then. Even though we’re probably going to be without power for the next few days, on one hand it’s a relief to get those days for last minute packing and preparation, because, as always, we’ve left a lot to the last minute.
